It should be noted, that (although it's a good idea to ensure your account e-mail is an active e-mail account), it doesn't have to be.

Because the e-mail address with Public Mobile is just a 'username', it doesn't have to be associated with an active e-mail account.

After Support changes your e-mail address at the account level, be sure to update your Community e-mail address to match it. You can do that by tapping your SIM card avatar upper right, go down to My Settings, and update it there.
