Hi, I am going to Honduras and want to download "WhatsApp"

Will I be charged data fees when using my phone down there?

HI @Tami333 PM does not have any service there in Honduras, so no need to worry.

You will likely need to buy local data prepaid sim to use Mobile data there, or use Wifi from hotel 🙂

@Tami333 No extra charge. PM does not have roaming service other than US

Since PM does not have service there, you cannot use your phone there for voice or data with PM. Check local data and use VoIP app for calls

Make sure you download and setup WhatsApp before you leave Canada, as I believe you need to be able to receive a text code to set it up initially.

Once it's setup you can use it over wifi while you travel, and/or with a local sim card and data plan.

Yes you likely will! Turn roaming off on your phone and use Wifi!

Two reasons they won't be charged roaming:

1) Public Mobile is a prepaid service, so there's no way to build up a debt of overages

2) Public Mobile does not have roaming service in Honduras, so it's a moot point because the service won't work anyway.
