Auto forward any text message from my PM number to another number or email?

hi there,

Does anyone know how to setup an auto forward any text message which is sent to my Public Mobile number to my another phone number? or email. I will travel to Dominican , but Public mobile doesn't have Roaming service . Just wondering, can I forward any text message what send to my phone number to my wife's phone number( it is a local phone) automatically. I knew the phone call can forward. Not sure text message is ok. Or forward it to my email ?

HI @zyfnov it is doable via app

Search app store for that. But you need to have the phone connect to a power source and turn on the whole time. Better if someone can take care of the phone in case it got stuck , like reboot the phone

What about using VoIP app like TextNow and ask people to text you to your TextNow number? You can then receive the text directly on the app on your phone

Here are some apps that seem to do what you are looking for. Disclosure, I have not used these apps, so I cannot comment on performance. You mentioned call forwarding. That only works for forwarding to a Canadian number.

I should add that since the SMS forwarding is done with an app and not at the network level, you would need to keep a phone with the Public Mobile service running so that the SMS received by the phone is forwarded by the SMS forwarding app.

thank you for the reply. I do have a TextNow local canadian number. It seems only use App to forward text message. cannot let the system forward the text message automatically. The issue is to keep phone on, I cannot let phone at home when I am away.

HI @zyfnov if you cannot leave the phone on at home, then your only option is to ask your friend to text and call you on your TextNow

TextNow cannot receive 2FA text, unless you pay. So, for the bank security code, you will need to change to receive in email or other method

Find, borrow, buy an old phone. Put the Public sim in it. Run the app. Plug the phone into power. Take your preferred phone with you. Bon Voyage.

You can forward calls too.
