Cross connected call

I was speaking to a company and needed to do a conference call. I called the other number which was saved to my contacts so no misdial, and it connected to someone not at the phone number I dialed. Do cross connections still happen with cell phones? I thought that was a landline issue.

@Colincastle Very unlikely and would be rare from what I know , but anything’s possible I suppose … I still sometimes will be talking To a friend and at times can hear another person talking on the odd occasion but that’s all I’ve ever experienced as cross connection before of any sort

I can't say I have ever experienced a connection error. With software, latent bugs are not out of the question.

Did you possibly add the third call by manually entering the number and perhaps mis-type a digit?

If not that, possibly the receiver of the added call may have had their device forwarded to another party.

I’m sure you’ve double checked the number since and tried calling that individual again to confirm.
