I guess somehow people thought Community is the formal way to open ticket, so, they have to use real names and phone numbers 🙂

If you are asking, are you referring to My Account login credentials or Community login credentials?

Your email address is your user name on your account but you can use any user name on this public Community forum.

Once you select a user name, it can only be changed by a CS_Agent so think of a good one so you don’t need to change in the future.

@Kungfuhank We don't have any choice about what username we can use for the self serve account as only emails are permitted, however, for the community account you'd want to avoid using your name, although first name only should be okay. You'd also want to avoid using your telephone number as a community username. This is because anything posted (except for private messages) on this forum is available to view for anyone with internet access and isn't restricted to Public Mobile members only.

Looks like you selected a non problem username but might be a good idea to remind others who you may refer in the future as to why not to reveal too much information in the username.

You could choose to your self-serve username (which is an e-mail address) for your community username, however I would recommend strongly against it.

You might wish to keep your e-mail address private and using it as your community username would be exposing it to all users on this forum.

You would want to ensure the community e-mail address (which you can see under your avatar, down in My Settings) is the same as your self-serve username. This helps to ensure community involvement and customer support are better linked for smoother service and support here.
