@Dkloo2 there is no more $10 plan for new activation

If you are on one, the plan is now $13. the price increase was back in around end of April early May. PM should be charging you $13 since

Nope....if you had the grandfathered $10 plan...you're now paying $13...otherwise no longer available to anyone as a new plan.

What class action lawsuit? Did I miss the mention here?

This is the only plan in the entire history of this operation that got forcefully changed to a higher price. And that with nothing to show for it to justify the increased cost.

I believe the first text messages sent from 5129 informing customers of the 30% rate hike to the $10 50/50 plan along with emails (customers either recieved a text or email or both or none) on March 3rd 2022 for about 2 weeks ( I recieved mine on March 9th) with the effective date of April 27th/28th. If you did not recieve any notice by text or email (and yes pm has a record if one was sent) then the effective date by default is July 7th 2022 ....30 days after it was posted at publicmobile.ca/plans on June 7th 2022 "as a courtesy" but really to cover their "assets" as per the terms of service that only you as the customer is held to and you agree to every 30 days when you pay and renew your service plan.

The CCTS ruled that pm can change their terms whenever they want and how they want if the CCTS thinks it's better for you regardless of what the actual legislation or the WCC provides as your rights. However if you want to take pm to court over this unreasonable and unjustifiable 30% rate hike you will likely win on the breach of contract but will not be able to get the rate hike rescinded without a formal complaint to the CRTC and a request for a hearing which coming from a private individual or even a group of affected customers is highly unusual. If you want to make the commitment to move forward and help do the legwork involved then do some research on the involvement required and if you are still interested contact me via private message.

The best you can hope for if you did recieve the text or email is a $15 account credit. If you weren't informed and you make a formal complaint to the CCTS and pursue it to the very end is pm getting a breach of contract on their statistical record (but no other punitive action is taken against the provider) and a $12 refund from pm.

@Dkloo2 I keep reminding those affected. Carriers, like other businesses, also have right for price hike. All they need to do is to provide you a 30 days notice, in this case, PM did give 2 months notice via sms or email

We don't like price hike, sadly , there is no Price for Life!!!
