Issue receiving text from one specific number

Hi,

I just got a new phone and switch from an iphone to samsung. Everything is working great. Except for my mom where I can text her and she receives my text but I cant receive texts from her. Her number is not blocked I can receive calls from her just not texts. I deleted her and restarted my phone, put her as a new contact, still nothing. Anyone has any idea what's going on?

Have your mom turn off iMessage and just send you a regular text message.

Is there something about removing the device from your Apple ID account? That and turn on the send as sms and send as mms options in her imessage. Or she can press and hold the send button and it pops up the option to force send as sms. Or something like that.

@gabclement - you were communicating through iMessage before. If you turn your Chat Features on your android you could get around this, but then you would need your data on when not in wifi areas...so, I would not recommend this.

Best to get your mom's settings changed (as @dust2dust mentions).

Ask her (or help her) perform the following steps to try and fix the issue:

Connect to the internet using WiFi or Data.
Go to Settings > Messages and toggle iMessage OFF.
Turn your iPhone off completely, then turn it back on.
Go back into Settings > Messages and toggle iMessage ON.
Make sure “Send as SMS” and "MMS" is also turned ON.
