Lost my SIM Card...sort of...Help!

Hello All-

I really need your help!...Today I bought a brand new iPhone from the Apple Store! yay for me!?

I traded in my old iPhone and in doing so I/we forgot to remove my SIM Card from my old phone...

The Apple Store is 45 mins from my house and I am not able to go back today or even tomorrow...

My question Is do I order a new SIM Card from PM? (or can I buy one from i.e-Walmart or another store?)

Also- what is the process of activating a new SIM Card? Do I deactivate my old SIM Card first?

I would like to keep my phone number and not change anything else attached to my SIM..

Please provide me with help/step by step guidance on this issue please!!

@KnightRider do NOT order from PM , it could take long for them to deliver, 5 days to 3 weeks!!

quickest way is to get one from Telus or Koodo store or Amazon

Once you got the new SIM card , login to My Account on a desktop or laptop (not mobile as the mobile site for change sim card has glitch), then click on Quick links on top right, select Change Sim card and complete the change sim process

Of course, it could be quicker to go back to Apple store and get it back 🙂

I went through the process and was able to activate a new SIM Card..so thanx you!!

One more question though!!!

What will happen to my old SIM Card? Will it still work if someone finds it and tries to use it?

is it now deactivated since I replaced it in my account with a new SIM Card number?

I just want to make sure the old card is now dead and buried and pretty much useless since I bought a new one and activated it..sorry for the questions but I want to make sure I covered all my bases!

Once you change the SIM card number. The old SIM will be dead and all information will be transferred to the new SIM.

@KnightRider you got a new sim card quick. Did you get it from a Telus store?

No worry about the old one, once a new one is setup, the old one is "useless". No one can access your line with the old sim card and that cannot be reused either
