Just be sure that when you port your number you keep old SIM card in phone untill you get confirmation Text to port from old carrier&amp;nbsp;@ that point you have 90 mins to text YES to complete transfer . From that point you can change the SIM card . But I would leave old card in until it no longer works that way you won’t chance missing any call or texts … then put new SIM card in and reboot your phone&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

However if you are porting from most known providers if it does not complete within 30 minutes of replying YES to the PAT (porting authorization text) then there may be an issue and contacting the telus porting department to get the status of your port would be proactive.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Porting from voip providers, number holding services and some landlines can take up to 7+ days to complete. Most landline ports though will complete within 2 business days.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
