I am trying to port my number from Fonus to Public Mobile (PM). PM says I need sms from Fonus to verify number has ported. Fonus says they don't send verification. Besides, one reason I wanted to transfer to PM is that Fonus messaging system is broken and I havent been able to get sms for a week. It's now the third day. With either sim card I can make a call, but I can't receive any calls or send/receive sms messages. How can I find out if PM and Fonus are getting this done. At the moment I'm paying for 2 services and getting nothing.

@James46

Fonus is considered by the telus porting department as a landline because it's listed under Iristel as the provider. These ports take 2 business days to complete sometimes up to 7 days. Be sure to initiate the port request between Monday to Friday preferably earlier in the week than later. They will not send out a PAT (porting authorization text.) If your port does not complete within 2 business days you can call the telus porting department to check on the status of your port.
