New plan

I have a promotion where I get an extra 2gb for life. My plan is $35 for 3gb (so 5gb total). There is a plan that is currently $30 for the same (3gb). I'm wondering if I change to the $30 plan (which is the same plan, just cheaper), will I lose my 2gb/month promotion?

I thought that would be the case, but I looked at the fine print and it didn't say anything about switching plans, just "as long as you're a member", which is a pretty obvious statement!

I might change plans anyways...I think 3gb would be sufficient...I rarely use more than 1gb.

@foreverkayla , if 3GB is enough, it would be worthwhile to jump on the deal right away and save a few bucks a month. No point in paying for usage that is not consumed and lost every cycle.

Good call. If you're NOT using the 5GB every cycle, makes sense to pocket the extra $5 per cycle and rely on the 3GB with the $30 plan.

BTW, generally one can keep the promotion IF switching to a higher plan, but not a lower one.

If you do decide to change plans make sure to choose change plan on next renewal date. If you do an immediate plan change you will not receive any credit for your current plan.

At the time, $35 was the best plan as I think the cheaper plan only offered 1.5gb. So the additional data was worth it for the price. But now that there's a cheaper (and same) plan, I am thinking of switching...but at the same time, I kinda like having the extra data just in case! We'll see if they can resolve the random texting issue I have first because I might need to change providers altogether.
