I changed my SMS center number and now I can't send texts

Hi! I edited the SMS center number thinking it was incorrect. Then I couldn't send text messages anymore. I tried changing the number back to what it was but I still can't send text messages.

The SMS center number was originally formatted as +1(XXX)XXX-XXXX . However I have an older phone and the keyboard doesn't have brackets or dashes so when I played around with the number I could only re-enter it as +1XXXXXXXXXX. Not sure if because it's not formatted like it was originally this is why I can't send texts anymore.

Anyways what I am wondering is can this number be reset at the network level?? So I don't have to factory reset my phone and SIM.

Try resetting network connection or rebooting the device.

In the dialpad menu, does the # or * keys beside the zero not give the options for special characters?

If not, check out the menu options for special characters - i'm thinking even older flip phones would have that capability.

I have rebooted. How do I reset a network connection?

Unfortunately the only options I am given in the number field is 0-9, *, +, #, comma, space and period 😞

I could enter that number but I am unable to format it that way. I can only enter it as +16475800172.

I didn't need to format it in any specific way. I guess I just had the wrong number in there.
