You can't use the promocode in self serve. As long as you scheduled a change plan to the $40/15gb plan you are OK.

Sorry but you were told wrong by whoever told you that.

Switching to the new $40 plan with 15GB data is a way better deal, since the extra data isn't just for 12 months.

You get the extra data for the $40 plan until you ever switch to another plan in the future.

It's one or the other can't have both promos either 15gb/$40 or 12gb extra data for 12 months I suggest the promo plan as it will last longer than 12 months.

How can you have an existing activation?

Activation is a new customer / line. Plan change is existing members

As an existing customer you were not eligible to use the promocode. However then pm unexpectedly began offering a $40/15gb plan in self serve for existing customers to change to either immediately or by scheduling a change plan on next renewal. When you click change plans and "4G" plans the existing $40/5gb plan appears. You have to use the arrows to scroll thru the plans. The very next plan is the limited time offer $40/15gb plan. Schedule your plan change on next renewal to that plan.
