Looks thrashed. With it's limited compatibility and being an antique I think I would give up on this one. Maybe it would work on Rogers 2G.

OK I know nothing about Blackberry phones but I'm helping someone set up their back up phone until they can buy a new phone. What model is the phone pictured? Blackberry Hub?Where the heck is the Sim card tray? Will it work for basic services of texts and calls? How do I navigate it to find the settings? Were they sold locked?

Is it running Android? My immediate guess is KeyOne. Blackberry Hub is their all in one messaging place. Likely have to remove the back hatch. Not likely a tray. Likely a slot. It would work perfectly fine as a talk and text device. Security updates for the internet and wifi would be way outdated. Swipe down from the top. I would imagine they might have been locked once upon a time.

Adding - maybe Z3. That could be problematic for here.

https://www.gsmarena.com/blackberry-phones-36.php

Connected to my wifi now. But the

Sim card slot looks damaged?

And it needs cleaning?!! I don't know if I want to risk it and damage the Sim card?

The slot should be "sprung" or whatever that term is. Insert and then you press a little more for it to be in. Then you press it again to let it spring out.

Looks like a BlackBerry Leap to me. The Z3 is almost identical, but the radio specs appear to be targeted toward use outside of north america. If you can confirm it's a Leap, it should cover all of the main 3G WCDMA/4G LTE bands used by Public Mobile/Telus. It runs BlackBerry 10, and would still be useable just fine for some basic web browsing phone calls, and syncing email.

But indeed, that SIM card slot looks trashed.. 😞
