Unless your plan is about to renew, suspending your service would serve no purposed as it wouldn't extend the duration of your paid time for your plan. You could stop paying for now and if there aren't enough funds already in your Public Mobile balance, the service would stop working at the set renewal time.

@150731IT

You can suspend via list/stolen if your account balance equals or exceeds your plan amount or disable autopay if it does not....but there's no point until day 30 of your plan.

Your phone may take quite awhile to dry out. You could consider purchasing a back up phone during the current promotion? While nothing special the Alcatel smartphone will cover all of your basic needs so you won't be tempted to power on your phone just to see if it works? And cause irreparable damage.

Priced at $79 - $30 ($5×6 months)=$49 - $10 (free Sim card)=$39 Alcatel back up smartphone. With the $30 account credit and a free Sim card which you may or may not need right away anyways depending on the state of your phone ( although Sim cards are generally pretty tough) this is fairly cheap option to stay connected while you allow your phone to completely dry out before ant attempt to power it on is made.

SIM cards are extremely robust. Wetting should not damage it. Try drying it out and see if it will work again.

Dropped it in water?
The phone is the bigger factor than the SIM.

SIM can be dried off but the phone will need to be taken to a cell repair shop to see if can be dried out/repaired or it could be fried.
