can't send sms but receiving is fine

I'm using an iphone 12 with latest ios version. iMessage works. Also turned off iMessage to make sure it sticks with sms.

Funny thing is it was all working 3 days ago on Monday, as in I was texting with someone.

Hi @rogeryen what error you got when you cannot send sms? did you try to make sure the text has characters only and no special characters ??

It simply displays Messages Send Failure on the conversations list screen and Not Delivered on the actual conversation screen

Also can confirm I’m not sending special symbols or anything.

@rogeryen Have you tried doing the most obvious, rebooting or toggling airplane mode on/off yet?

I've had to do that a couple of times recently (rebooting) because SMS wouldn't send although that was on an android phone but rebooting seemed to fix whatever the issue was for not being able to send SMS.
