nothing has changed with my phone but as of Oct 1 I am unable to recieve voicemail messages

Do you mean no one can leave a voicemail for you? Or when you call your voicemail you can't get your messages? What happens when you call your voicemail from another phone can you leave a message?

actually both, no one can leave a message from another phone and I am not able to call voicemail error 6UM1 is stated

in your phone dialer, go into settings and there will be a setting about where to forward your phone when not available or a settings about voicemail number. Change to one of the other number from the list in this post (any nimber will do if your plan has Canada Wide calling, buy people usually pick one in the same province as your number)
