The way i look at it is:

How much data a month do i need/use and Does a current PM plan offer me a saving compared to what i am currently paying. if you will save money >$5 month then for me it is a clear decison <$5 a tossup.

What teh future promos will be it is impossible to know (open to all, targeted to certain providers, provinicial), it is a risk. If you are waiting for teh $40/4gb plan that is often mentioned i would not hold out for that.

Nice thing about PM is teh rewards refer a couple people and you start saving even more money, and the sooner you join the sooner you will earn your loyalty rewards.

the breakdown of plans (after autopay) is as follows below.

There really is not a great incentive for 90 day plans (2$/month savings)

30 days

90 day term

3g

lte

3g

lte

500mb

30

35

28

33

1gb

35

40

32

38

2gb

40

45

38

43

3gb

na

50

na

48

4gb

45

na

43

na

5gb

na

60

na

58

6gb

50

na

48

na

Hi, I am currently a Rogers customer but looking to save some money on my monthly bill. I found public mobile and was excited to switch, But during my sign up for a 90 day plan I came to realize that the data I thought I was going to get every month is stretched across the full 90 days, So unfortunately it’s not as cheap as I thought it was going to be. I see that others have gotten promos in the past with probably better deals. Is it public knowledge when the next promos are going to be active and what they will be? If I were to sign up now on one of the existing plans am I able to switch to a promo when they are released or are they only for new customers?

But the can come at anytime, and be gone just a quick. Although you can keep an eye on special times of years, or if a competitor is having major promos.

You can switch plans as long as your are eligible. Even if you're not eligible, there are ways to get a promo, it just takes a little more work.

When switch plans, though, keep in mind, this is prepaid and not postpaid, so you might end up losing any unused service.

I came over from Freedom Mobile, with their $35 BTS plan they had. I am on PM's Freedom Promo, only offered to FM's customers. It's $120/90 days, with 12GB of data, unlimited provincial and world-wide text. Between auto-pay and other rewards, my bill was knocked down to $102/90 days. So no complaints.

The last promo was targetted at Freedom customers. So, existing customers would not have been able to switch directly. So, signing up now and hoping for a chance to switch to something better in the future may not work. As mentioned, this being a prepaid service, there is potential big expenses if new accounts have to be activated as there are no refunds for existing paid services. Without a reliable crystal ball, I would suggest keeping an eye on promos that pop up from time to time and signing up then.

This mean that, if a promo is available and you are in the middle of your billing cycle, you can chose to change for the promo plan on the date your billing cycle ends. This way you secure the promo for yourself (even if the promo ends before the switch is made, if it is registered as a future-dated plan change in your account you will still get it).

Hope this clarifies things a bit!
