Yes, they are

Please remember to manually connect to T-Mobile or AT&T when you are in US. do not rely on Automatic.

Also , due to the 3G shutdown in US, it is better to connect to T-Mobile first as T-Mobile still have the 2G network which the voice call will work there

I just came back from the US and I found auto connection setting to work very well. In fact, when trying manual, I could not connect to AT&T. I tried in many places with identical result. T-Mobile connection worked in either auto or manual.

I was unable to connect to AT&T. On T-Mobile, the connection was LTE. I did not buy calling or text. I have Google voice for calling and texting. One thing that was really disappointing was the lack of improvement on rural coverage since my last visit many years ago. Highway 101 in WA still has a ton of dead spots.
