I thought I had the solution when inserting a new sim and changing my profile to use that new sim resulted in connecting to the network.

The last two day and a half have been weird. I lost the network connection without doing anything to my phone other than plugging in the USB c to charge.

I was able to reconnect to the network after a couple of attempts at rebooting my phone (which is one I purchased a little over a year ago from a retail store and have not had problems like this in the first year of ownership.).

Yesterday late afternoon my phone disconnected from the network. I tried several reboots of the phone and that did not restore the network. I left the phone plugged into the usb charger all night. Today, I unplugged the charger and tried to make a phone call. Please note that last night I couldn't reconnect to the network after the last reboot I did so I just let it charge to 100%. This morning, after disconnecting the USB c, I tried to make a phone call without rebooting or doing anything other than using my fingerprint to open the phone. It worked. .. I don't know why it worked. Connecting to network and disconnecting to network seems to be happening randomly.

I think I just need to keep a log of every time I disconnect from the network and the conditions around the disconnection and how/when it reconnects to the network and what actions I had done to make it reconnect.

--for now... I am scratching my head and blessing my VoIP phone that I have for "backup" communications lol.

Is it a new-ish phone ? Did you buy that phone 2nd hand, such as Craigslist or eBay ?

Check to see if phone is reported stolen or blacklisted somewhere.

https://www.devicecheck.ca/check-status-device-canada/
