Yeah my bet is on imessage with wifi on. idevices can send and receive instant messages between themselves with just the internet. You probably aren't getting REAL SMS on the old account. Turn off wifi and see what you get. I bet nothing comes in.

It's usually inbound calling that doesn't work with a bad port.

So with your new sim in can you call out and does it look like your proper number at the other end?

Can you call into it using your proper number?

Text out and does it look like you proper number?

Then with this sim in the same thing:

Can you call out and does it look like your proper number?

Can you call into it using your proper number?

Text out and does it look like you proper number?

Adding - how long ago did you go to the other provider?

The copied instructions above are the right idea but the wrong direction.

Support for all this should be from the other provider. This side needed to be active at the time of porting and you needed to leave this sim in to confirm the transfer.

But for us in our endeavour to try to help you anyway we're trying to nail down where exactly the problem exists. Please try to answer some more of the questions. We don't ask questions just for our entertainment and to see our name in lights. (well some do 🙂 way after the fact saying the same thing that had already been said earlier by someone else)

<STRIKE>@softech- I'm not yet convinced of exactly what has happened.</STRIKE>

Adding- @luisecard - since you had posted your number earlier (which you shouldn't have) I called the dial in toll free number and found that your account is still active here until the 25th. So as softech has been concluding all along, your port did not complete properly. I'm puzzled why inbound calling works on your new service but whatever. This end is still active.
