Is there a way to keep a phone number with Public Mobile without any service?

I want to be able to suspend services but not lose my phone number if I'm going to be away in another country for half a year. Unfortunately, trying to select a 90 day pass with No Talk, No Text, No Data is greyed out.

Is there an option to keep the phone number but suspend services from Public Mobile?

The maximum time for an account to be inactive before you loose it and the number associated with it is 90 days. If you are away for longer than that and you want to keep your number you could change your plan to the cheapest plan (30 days text) around day 85 (to leave a margin to allow for hickups) and then let expire it again.

Please note that you will loose any grandfathered promo plan in this scenario.

Speak out prepaid has plans that last up to a year, you could consider that service. Given that you are looking to be away for half a year, the easy but may not be cheaper option is to pay up for a 90 day plan and use 89 days of suspension.

You could port you number to fongo VoIP costs 25$

Much depends on what plan you have, and if you are willing to lose it or want to keep it.

My friend using the 3G promo plan goes to Florida for 6 months. Because of the bonus data it is cheaper annually for him to pay 3 X 90 day plans and leave 1 cycle unused. PM is his only internet service and needs all 18 GB for 90 days!
