After viewing the Rewards Catalogue, I now see it is a no-brainer - Speakout is nowhere as good a deal as Public Mobile is!! No need for further comparison! LOL. With Speakout, the charges never diminish!

Except when they claw some of it back with illegally executed forced plan changes with a more expensive new plan.

Public mobile does have the right apparently to make up the rules on the fly.....especially when it comes to legacy plans. Dont worry your on a CRTC mandated plan....your price is fixed.

I had read an article about the Telus answer to the mandated $15 plan was the Koodo $15 plan.

The CTRC mandated plan is supposed to be postpaid....not prepaid.

It's the only redeeming quality. That isn't to say that Pubilc Mobile doesn't offer other good things or do other things well, but it's one of the few quantifying reason to choose Public Mobile over another wireless brand.

I've been with PM for a few years now. One of the things that keep me on the hook is the freebies we've all received over the last few holiday seasons. I don't know of any other provider that's given customers free data....no strings attached.

Currently, I have about 6Gb of data that I didn't pay for, as well as nearly 400 minutes of International calling minutes that we're gifted to us all.

The new Points program does look rather chintzy compared to original Rewards program. It's just too bad that new customers can't have option for select Rewards or Points when they activate. I know Rewards was one of the things that attracted me when I signed on.

While the CRTC requires $15 plan to be a postpaid offering it along with the $35 plan are meant to ensure that the big three along with Sasktel offer standardized affordable plans alongside the medium basket plans that were to be reduced by 25% by 2022. Since their prepaid flanker brands already offered a version of these plans they were quietly standardized.

While offering the new full speed 4G LTE plans was mostly kept under wrap its not a surprise since the these providers want to prove they are offering a wider range of choice for customers while keeping their top tier brands catering to customers willing to continue to pay a $100+ mobile service plan with the exception of only offering the $100 yearly plan to that customer base. Regardless the $15 and $35 plans are safely entrenched with their features and price points along with the 2gb, 6gb and 8gb 4G LTE plans.

The $15 plan says: "No data overage fees (no charges for going over the data included with the plan)"???!!!!

That doesn't make sense. If that was the case, everyone would be abusing the system and there would be no incentive for anyone to go to a more expensive plan.

No data overage fees because your regular plan data will stop once it reaches the limit set out in the plan detail.

I have the $15/30 day plan with 250MB's of 3G data included. Once I reach the limit of 250MB's...data will just stop until next renewal or I have some data add-on to supplement. In the old days...data would keep going and you'd get some outrageous bill for "overage"....and people paid it.

You definitely can use more after, but you have to first pay to buy the add-ons first before the data will continue to work 🙂

I like that. If I used up the 250, only I have to blame. No nasty overage surprises. That's good.
