Recently I paid $35 and added 2 Gb of data as the 2Gb on my plan was low. I was told that possibly it would show up on my phone after the 2Gb on my plan was entirely used up. It now shows 2.09 Gb used and keeps informing me that my data has run out. How do I get them to show the add-on in my phone and not get the data warning?

There is no link of data remaining or data consumed on the phone to the account. The account overview page will give you your true data counting. Your phone would need to be set to each 30 day period. And it would also count MMS whereas Public does not. The phone does its own independent counting.
