US roaming service needs to be activated or not?

When I change my plan to cover Canada and USA, when will my phone be ready to travel to the States? How many days are needed to activate the service in the States?

For the add-ons, do we need to wait for a few days for it's activated the moment we purchase the add-ons?

@Rachael , US roaming is an add-on feature to the existing plan. Do not change the plan, just purchase the required US roaming add-on. The add-on is activated immediately upon purchase and lasts for 10 days.

@Rachael hi only a 10 day roaming addon will give you service in the states it starts as soon as you purchase the add on

@Rachael - you only need any active public mobile plan to be able to use the Roaming Addons (available for purchase in self serve or calling 611 for some) whilst in USA.

@Rachael the 10 days, 240 hours countdown starts right after you successfully purchased the add-ons, so wait till you really need it and buy it then

Make sure you manually select either TMobile or AT&T instead of leaving it with automatic network selection. If you cannot connect to one of them, or not connect well, try connect the other one

Your plan will cover calls/texts to Canada and US if the calls/text was made in Canada.

You will need 10 days US Roaming for calls/texts and data in US connecting to AT&T or T-Mobile cell towers.
