Activate my personal greeting

I have set up my phone, pin, recorded name and personal greeting. I can play the personal greeting but the system greeting is active and I can't find a way to change the greeting from my recorded name to the message I recorded. The prompts just keep telling me my system greeting is active. How do I select my recorded greeting as the one people will hear when they get my VM? Thanks in advance for any help with this.
