Anyone know how to get a toronto or Markham number

You'll need to take whatever is available or complete the activation at a later tine when number availability is better. The other option would be to take a number from another city. You could then change the number at a later time.

Pick a random number first. After it activated and work, go to Self-Serve My Account and request a Change Phone number. There are Toronto numbers to choose from:

for Markham number, try ON-Aurora

Numbers for Toronto should be available area code 647/437/416

GTA 289/365/742/905

Do not expect to get 416/905, though.

Pick any available to start service. Then later you can change 4x/30 days to any you prefer more.

Are you getting options, just not area codes you like?? Or no options at all? someone yesterday wasn/t and just opened with a new browser/incognito and was able to choose one.

For instance I couldn't even sign into the community because an jumbled error message came up saying ENTITY TOO LARGE but can hop in with incognito, it is a life saver I tell you

HI @JL9 Markham is not on the list at all

Toronto sometimes not appear in the activation portal

Choose by only area code could cost unnecessary long distance charge for someone. For example, 905 covers Mississauga and Markham. But Markham 905 would not be calling for free when your Mississauga friends call you if they do not have unlimited Provincial or Canada Wide calling with their provider (although it is lesser an issue now)

Good point, there are still some of those plans out there, not as prevalent as it used to be when Canada wide calling (or even province wide calling was a thing) So picking a 416/647 number was key so you could avoid LD charges for basically all of the GTA
