Receiving calls

Hello:

Could you please tell me why I cannot receive calls from other cellphones when my data is turned off. I can receive land line calls. Thanks.

@BugsLady - did you just activate a new number or transfer your number over from another provider?

Calls do not require data to be enabled. Are you receiving calls through some online app?

Try:

*turn off your phone, then reboot

*removing your SIM, then reinserting it

*go into airplane mode, then going back to regular mode

*perform a reset network settings on your device

*try your SIM into another compatible phone to see if the same issue persists

HI @BugsLady are you sure you are talking about regular phone calls and not those VoIp calls like from Whatsapp, Fackbook Calling, etc? Only those need Mobile Data

can you make outgoing calls when your mobile data is off?

At lesat try to change to 3G Only for your network type and check if you can receive incoming calls

If it is just your cell phone line and not 3rd party voip apps you shouldn't have an issue, could be a settings issue even though that seems unlikley as well
