      <description>&lt;P&gt;Normally you don't bother the original provider. You request the transfer at the new provider and leave the old sim in to confirm a text from the old provider.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Did you lose the old sim? Did you try to transfer at sign-up? Are you trying it in change number?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;a href="https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/234497"&gt;@oliverhaeffely&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;You need to leave the Fido SIM in your phone and wait for a text confirming with YES that you are porting over to PM.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;There is a 90 minute window for you to reply or the porting will not be completed.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If you missed this window, you will need to contact a CS_Agent to restart the process over again.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;They can be contacted by SIMon Chatbot by creating a ticket or private messaging on this Community page.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;If it's a cell number it's basically instantaneous, and usually no longer than an hour or if it's a landline it may be a few days to complete.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;You have to initiate porting request at PM side and they will send request to other company.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Just keep old SIM in your phone and reply Yes within 90 minutes after receiving SMS from other company.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

And, I believe it is a good idea to perform a reset of your device's network settings when changing providers.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
