SMS not working

I paid for US Roaming - Unltd. Txt/Itinérance É-U - Textos illimités 3 times already in the past 12 months, lost all that money because SMS never worked for me. Please help.

Did you have only US texting or calls were included too?

Did you connect to AT&T or T-mobile while in USA and had roaming set on?

@jotasanta You tried it 3 times in the last 12 months but non of them work?

If you login to Plan Details page (https://selfserve.publicmobile.ca/Overview/plan-and-Add-ons/ChangePlanLandingPage/), do you Roaming Text showing there?

did you manually change the network provider from Automatic to either T-Mobile or AT&T? Which one did you use ? did you try both?

- Rebooted, restarted the phone several times.

- I have an iPhone 13

- I'm able receive and make phone calls

- I have been a customer for 5+ years

it's not roaming actually, I just want SMS to work within canada. Is there a different add-on for that?

@jotasanta oh, no problem. I saw you talked about Roaming Text.

Which plan do you have? and is your Mobile Data working? are you trying to use SMS or iMessage?

- 2 Choices

- 4GB at 4G LTE Speed

- Unlimited Provincial Talk

Mobile data is working perfectly and so does iMessage. Is just SMS the one that is broken.

@jotasanta It seems like you might be on an old grandfathered plan that didn't include texts. You might want to look over the current plans as they all offer unlimited texting, however, the data speed is 3G and any change in plan wouldn't allow you to get back to your previous one.

There is and never was a texting add-on for Canada.

Do you need SMS in US or Canada? Initial post mentioned USA?!

It looks like you have some old plan. You have to check your Plan's details if SMS is included.

Since you have province wide, check current plans - $40 Plan offers Canada wide calls/SMS and 5GB data with autopay. It is easy to switch plans...

@jotasanta I'm afraid so as all the new plans only offer data speeds of 3G and TBH for the majority of customers it doesn't seem to make a difference (or very little) to their browsing.
