When I put my existing SIM card into a new cell phone, message asked for PUK code.

What brand is the phone?

It sounds like your new phone is carrier locked. where you got the phone from? which carrier you used it before? you likely have to go back and ask for unlock code from that carrier instead of from PM

Do the following:

tap on the little white bubble lower right
type "need PUK"
follow precise instructions the chatbot gives you based on the messaging you are getting
