Hi i wanted to know is the data add on for the old $25 talk and text plan 3G or is it lte.

According to Jeremy_M here, it will be LTE:

Also, from the fine print on the PM plans page, note # 7: "If you have a Talk and/or Text Plan only with no data, the Data Add-Ons available to you will be defaulted to 4G LTE speed"

All data add-on will be on lte speed.

Actually, not all. If you are on a 3G plan, any data add-on you buy will match 3G. See MarieHelene_L's clarification here:

It's only lte if you on talk and text plan only then if you purchase data then its lte ? But if someone have a 3g plan then all data add-on are 3g right ?

$30 per gig of crippled 3G data! Time to load up on Telus shares. My Tbaytel prepaid is $7.50 per gig of unthrottled 3G, less if larger data bucket is purchased. It doesn't expire as well.
