Which is the "correct" number for voice mail in Ontario?

@kav2001c, if you are running Android, the easiest way to check the voice mail number is by looking at the call forwarding numbers in the dialer app. This is the number I get when I look there.

@will13am that was why I wondered, my cell phone shows *2* different voice mail numbers (both work and both different than yours)

So now I am wondering which is "correct" number

I have:

289-680-4001

705-780-4001

+ your number now

647-580-4001

So 3 different ON numbers (& I am in Toronto which is why the 705 puzzled me)

So it looks like voice mail is a local number that changes depending on the locale. I really don't pay much attention to the number. Just long press 1 to get voice mail or use the notification to navigate to voice mail.

I guess these are exempt from out-of-province billing as Newfoundland (709) is a Nova Scotia (902) number.

@will13am I only noticed it as I was playing with conditional call forwarding and wondered what the other number was in my phone settings

And both numbers seemed fully functional at the time (on old carrier I swear they had only 1 access number)

Looking at the forwarding numbers is how I have always checked what the voice mail number was. That's how all carriers work voice messaging.
