Can you buy an add on to a plan to be able to call the UK?

@Lynn68 yes, there is a specific addon for UK Calling

1000 U.K. Long Distance Minutes - $15.00 (10 Reward points)

Please note the following UK codes are not included in UK calling from Canada and will not be completed when dialled:

4470, 44870-44879, 44843-44845.

Login to My Account and you can purchase the add-on there. (https://selfserve.publicmobile.ca/Overview/plan-and-Add-ons/ChangePlanLandingPage/?PageRedirect=RedirectToAddOnPage) Make sure you aware buying add-on is a 2 steps process

1. load fund

2. actual buying the addin

many people missed the 2nd steps

(Also, if you have joined PM already in Dec 2021, you should have got a Holiday bonus of 500 min International calling, You can use that bonus to call UK as well)

To purchase the UK Minutes add-on using your Self-Serve account, follow these steps:

Click on ‘Purchase Add-Ons’ on the Overview tab and scroll down to the Add-On calculator.
Click the plus sign (+) to add and the minus sign (-) to remove selected Add-ons.
When you’ve added all your desired Add-Ons, click ‘Buy Add-Ons’ or ‘Make a Payment’ below the calculator:

You will see ‘Make a Payment’ instead of ‘Buy Add-Ons’ if there are not enough funds in your account to make the purchase.
If you don’t have sufficient funds to purchase the Add-Ons, you will be asked to make a one-time payment equal to the price of the Add-On, less your current available funds. Click ‘Submit’, then ‘Go back’: now the button below the calculator will say ‘Buy Add-Ons’.

Select ‘Confirm my purchase’, and you’re done.
Some users have found that rebooting the device is required afterwards.

Yes you can purchase add-ons for $15/1000 minutes when you are calling in Canada.

You might consider using wifi calling/texting app like WhatsApp or TextNow.
