Back to School Promotion!?

Are there any back-to-school promotions coming up? Are there any other great promotions being offered by PB in the near future?

The winds tell us nothing, as the mountain of secrecy has not been broken.

Honestly, we do not know as community members. So far, there have been only 4 promos offered, and they have all been within the last 10 months.

public Mobile keeps this information close to their chests.

Nobody knows when a new promo will come. Public Mobile is NOT known for launching seasonal or occasional promos. So, its really hard to predict if there will be any promo for back to school. All i can say now is that keep your eyes out. There will be something interesting coming VERY soon.

lf you currently are not a member of Public Mobile it may be a good idea to order a SIM card to have ready for when the next promotion occurs.

@gulafshan, as stated we don't know about promo's. After this last one it maybe a while before they offer another one. There are still issues in the activation end that need to be fixed so that there isn't the backlog of issues for new or even existing customers

depending on your needs the regular PM plan of 2/gb provincial calling global texting is a good deal, not sure if there are many plans that are cheaper.

autopay brings it down to $38, and the sooner you join then the earlier you will start getting loyalty rewards.

In the past promos were open to all, The FM promo was the only one that was carrier specific. Not sure what the next one will be.

Hopefully there will be something personal thought. Also it's depending on what carrier will offered during back to school time if freedom or chatr offer something really good then more likely pm will offer something interesting too. To get their business that's how system work I think.

If 2 gigs is sufficient, then zoomer has the best deal at the moment for $36. Also, a cheap carrier phone is included in the deal.

yes but with zoomer you are on a two year contract and there are no rewards to bring your plan lower and if PM does come up with a good promo it will be hard/costly to switch.

@bryclops Best advice ever.

I always have 2 extra SIM cards on hand in case:

- I lose a phone (very low chance)

- My wife loses hers (low chance)

- Someone wants to jump onboard (good chance)

- Someone makes a last minute decision to jump on board when a promo is almost over (very high chance)

Not at all. There's no more contacts, just hardware subsidies, stay the duration, get the phone for free. If the deal is good, why would you leave early anyway.

My mistake, yes hardware subsidy instead of contract. What i was trying to say is If there is a good promo at PM and you wanted to leave zoomer then you would have to repay the device to leave.

Also was on zoomer site. I didnt see a 2gb plan for 36$ there was one for 40.5$ and 2.5gb for $45

@Someone_here honestly, we don't get much advanced notice. You're not missing much in that regard. In fact, the advanced period is usually so small that even when they ask for our feedback, there isn't time for them to actually change anything anyway, regardless of our positive or negative feelings toward whatever-it-is.

Since PM no longer offers promos to all current customers you may wish to try out 30 day plans. It does reduce your data use flexibility BUT minimizes your risk when converting. For example: you just paid for another 90 days on the 12 GB plan and a 30 day promo is announced that you want >> you would forfeit 60 days worth of service when migrating.

I doubt that. What i think is that they will have random waves of promos at a random times. Some for only new comers (targated) and some for existing/new customers.

@NDesai I think recent moves from PM have shown us that past tactics are not necessarily accurate predictors of future tactics. Although we haven't seen seasonal or "event"-based promos in the past, I wouldn't rule out the possiblity in the future (though I am NOT saying I know anything--purely speculation).
