I cannot text while I am in the USA even though my plan says I have international texting

@wayne2354 You plan said international text is for you to able to text FROM Canada to other countries. NOT to use when you are out of Canada

Talk, text and data services refer to services offered while connected to the Telus/Public Mobile network. For service when not connected to the Telus/Public Mobile network, a roaming package must be purchased. Calls must originate from Canada to the US.

If you need text in USA, you will need to buy roaming add-on that has Text feature. here are the list of PM roaming add-in:

Or download some VoIP app for free texting, like TextNow. Download the app, it will let you select a Canadian phone number. Then you can receive calls and text and make outgoing calls and text on the app as long as you have Wifi or Mobile Data in US (for mobile data, consider buying the local data prepaid plan in US)

Yes, you do unlimited domestic/international texting but only WHILE in Canada.

For US roaming services you have to buy add-on

US Roaming for 10 day packages

Unlimited U.S. Talk, Text and 250MB Data Bundle = $20

Unlimited U.S. Talk and Text Bundle = $15

Unlimited U.S. Talk Only = $8

Unlimited U.S. Text Only = $8

U.S. Data Only for 10 day packages

250MB = $10

500MB = $15

1GB = $20

Correct. But you may have discovered that you can receive texts in the US without a roaming add-on.

As they say in the commercials…”Only in Canada” for the International texting and calling from Canada.

You need to purchase Roaming bundle for 10 days.

Other options is use wifi app or purchase a local SIM.

Try to find WIFI hot spots that are just about everywhere. Hard not to find WIFI at hotels, department stores, restaurants etc.
