The imei checker is broken and not accurate.

Hello, I have a 2-part question: 1) is the OnePlus 5 is compatible on Public Mobile? It doesn't recognize the IMEI but I'm wondering if it can still work. 2) Is there a way to test it? I have a SIM card, just haven't activated it yet. Can I activate it to test it out, without paying the fees for a plan, in case it doesn't end up working?

the IMEI checker is outdate/unreliable. Use willmyphonework.net, it has an extensive list of phones, and shows if the phone is compatiable. Just be sure you know your phones model # as many devices have different model numbers for various regions

Here are the frequencies used by PM/Telus: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telus_Mobility Check against your phone's specs.

Inserting an unactivated PM SIM shows No Service; if you see a message to enter a code it would mean the phone is locked to another carrier.

The sure test for any phone is to insert an activated PM SIM; $11 (plus $5 for the SIM) to do that: https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/Getting-Started/quot-Risk-Free-quot-Activation-costs-11/m-p/28779#M4212

Suggested reading prior to activating: https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/Getting-Started/BE-PREPARED/m-p/112014#M20827
