Samsung A12 International would work, but I will avoid

The 3G bands, it only have 1 of the 2. So, it might not work that well.. You might have dropped calls.

Even LTE bands, it has only 2 compatible bands

4G bands	1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 20, 28, 38, 40, 41

It is missing an important 3G band 1900.

Public Mobile uses the following frequency bands:

4G LTE and LTE Advanced: 700 MHz, 850 MHz, 1900 MHz and 2100 MHz downlink and 1700 MHz uplink (AWS).
HSPA: 850 MHz, 1900 MHz (UMTS).

3G = 850 (5), 1900 (2)

4G = 850 (5), 1900 (2), 700 (12/13/17/29), 1700/2100 (4), 2600 (7), 1700/2100 (66)

Yes, it is compatible but it does not have 1900 band.

is will work with public mobile but my suggest you to buy it Canadian Version is better...

@MGL Would recommend buying straight from the Samsung Canada website. It's $209 CAD. It would be guaranteed to work with Public Mobile since it is optimized for the Canadian market.

@MGL Just an update, the phone is currently out of stock on the Samsung website. It's because there is a world wide chip shortage, which means there might be more phones that are out of stock.

Public Mobile will not be offering "5g" service any time in the near future. Public Mobile doesn't even offer the fastest LTE speeds that are available to new customers, so I would unfortuantely say that "5g" is a very long ways away.
