This is not happening to me, but I recall something like this before.

Try one or more of the below:

*ensure your device has the latest software update

*uninstall your calling app, then reinstall

*perform a reset of your device's network settings

I thought it was something to do with that particular device's settings. So if you tried your SIM into another compatible phone, does it still do this?

I just Google dialer and I believe it does the auto 1 in front.

@ashleyskye : Is this a point of curiosity? I'm not sure why it matters. As long as the call goes through. If the 1 isn't included, the little confusing recording comes on saying you _may_ get charged. Which we don't. So enjoy the auto-1.

Nope, dialing without extra '1'.

There were advises that some area codes do require extra '1'. Have not encounter such...
