Hello,

I'm a newcomer in Canada and I don't have a bank account yet.

Can I get a sim card in cash? and can I do that at any store that sells Public Mobile?

Yes you most certainly can and activate in store or online using vouchers. You can order thru Canadian Cell Supplies using pay pal a $5 SIM card or one of their activation bundles offering a 20% to 30 %discount off your first month and a free sim card. $25+ plans activated in store or thru CCS are eligible for a bonus 5gb data add on. If you are in the Toronto area you can pick up the sim card in person.

Be sure to use a referral code for a $10 bonus credit. If you need one just private message any member here and ask for their code.

Yes, you should be able to pay by cash as long as it is accepted. Other option would be to buy a prepaid debit card and use that as payment.

You may want to get a koho online bank account that is free and comes with a visa/debit card that earns 0.5% cash back + an additional 1% for being referred or anyone you refer. You can use it to sign up for autopay to recieve the $2 autopay reward and the 500mb data bonus for $25+ plans. You will also earn an additional 2% cashback on your public mobile payments.

It takes 5 minutes to sign up and 5 business days to recieve your koho card. Just choose "save money" when you sign up for a quicker processing of your application. Many in store vendors will accept cash to purchase SIM card and payment vouchers.

Vendors include London drugs, Walmart, Mobile shops (inside superstore), WOW mobile, and some authorized Koodo dealers. Some gas stations also sell vouchers and even SIM cards. Ie. Shell.

You can go to London Drugs store for a free PM SIM and they can activate the SIM for free.

Sale ends August 25 so you have 2 days to find a LD.
