After 2 hours fooling around I finally got onto INCOGNITO and bought the $25 dollar 500GB plan,phone works but nothing else,no browser(Google),no text with a picture,this service is starting to look like a waste of time or is it me,please help me I need this up and running I am going to Florida in 48 hours.

Hello @huffy47

For "Google"/Internet to work, and also for picture messaging you need to have your DATA option enabled on your phone. Is it enabled?

If the Data option is turned on, and you are on an android, check your APN settings here:

Also, you can try one or more of the below:

*Reboot your phone

*Toggle into airplane mode for a minute than back to regular mode

*do a RESET of your NETWORK Settings

ALSO, note...Public Mobile Plans do not work outside of Canada. But if you have any Public Mobile plan you can purchase addons to use your services while you are in the USA. These addons only last 10 days though; so I suggest you purchase them just when you need to use them.

@huffy47 : Unless you're buying 10 day roaming add-ons...this might not be the right service for you in Florida.

You'll need to verify your APN settings if Android.

do one thing Make sure your phone is off before removing your SIM card,

and do rebooting your phone take your SIM card out and waiting for a 2 minute and put it back and turn on -This one is quick and simple.

what is mean for Rebooting the phone means to turn off your phone and turn it back on again.

or can you do try reseat the SIM card

1. power off your device

2. take out the SIM card,

3. wipe it clean SIM card,

4. put it back and power on,

5. toggling airplane mode off/on,

and do again Rebooting your phone means to turn off your phone and turn it back on again.

How to reset network settings on an IPhone

Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

for iphone go to Settings > Messages > To turn iMessage on or off,

Turn your data on to send a Picture Messaging in world-wide,

if your data is off and your home internet wifi is on is not going through the Picture or a video Messaging,

you have to do this to is go through you will need to turn your data on to send a Picture or a video Messaging in world-wide,

make sure your DATA is on.

and do again Rebooting your phone means to turn off your phone and turn it back on again.

Still sitting here in Canada completely frustrated with this comany,I got the sim in the mail at 10am,it's now 4pm,took all day to get through on INCOGNITO but that's all done,bought the $25 dollar 500GB plan just to get up and running I'll add on later,the phone works for calls but nothing else,no test,no app store,no GOOGLE,if BELL wasnt closed I'd already be there and set up in 3 minutes,very frustrated.

There was an issue with the activation portal for most of the morning but it has been fixed now.

What is the brand and model of your phone? Without that info its very difficult to help get your data up and running.

SOYES SX11,my friend has one and I got one,he has Public on it no problem,I will be giving up soon I'll pay 3X at BELL tomorrow if I don't smash the phone,no joke it was close to getting steped on 1000 times,I'm tech savvy and this is BS.

How about calls in/out? Texts in/out?

Thats excatly what I have been sitting here 5 hours doing,finally got the paln bought and the phone works,now I try to send a test and nothing,then a text with a picture,nothing,so I tried the browser,says I have no service,so I figured I'd try here because BELL is closed,seriously I'll take it there,hand it to them and a 18 year old kid will have me up and running in 3 minutes.

@huffy47 : You found some obscure phone from somewhere that is barely compatible with this place and that's the fault of this place?

Picture messages require data on the account (though doesn't consume it). I'm not sure if HSPA data is included with WCDMA. But if your friend says it works then fine. Where is your friend? If you're in MB then you might be in trouble.

No tests in or out my friend tried to test me,I was on another provider for a month with this phone it works fine but they don't have a USA roaming option is why I went with Public,nothing works but the phone.

@huffy47 : If you're able to call in/out then texting should work. Outbound texting would need the proper SMSC number set up.

But without data capability on the phone, no picture messaging, no browsing.

Put the PM sim from friends phone, in yours to see if the phone will actually work.

Problem solved,I took out the sim card to do the reset and said screw it,I cut it in 2 with scissors or I would be playing around all night,this Publics mobile is a complete joke,I'll be set up with Bell in 3 minutes tomorrow,garbage company.

Worked fine with my other provider they just don't have USA Roaming so I got Public,cheap phone yep,cheap **bleep**ty company also,this Publics is a joke man,I'll be up and running with Bell tomorrow and all set,complete garbage company.

@huffy47 : Looking forward to your gloating reply here when you're all set up and working with Bell. You can't compare Bell with here. Go try Lucky and see what happens. That phone would probably be good with the Rogers family though...for a while.

Geez have some patience....your phone is only compatible with the 3G network . You would have issues with most other carriers becausr they use the 4G LTE network for talk. PM does have text/talk and data on the 3G network. These are your specs...

Frequency 2G (GSM): 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz 3G (WCDMA): 850 / 900 / 2100 MHz

Network Type 3G

Edit: Or the rogers family since they still have 2G.
