But if it's precious to you then you should probably contact the new provider (send a private msg to the @CS_Agent or chat with simple Simon bot) to ensure the number isn't somehow locked or released. They can't take any action (and shouldn't be faulted) for being unaware of a user error running wild through the system.

Just got a text saying they are having issues transferring my phone number because of an incorrect MEID. They said someone will phone but I am impatient, can I fix or hurry this process up myself? The original SIM is still in the card.

Remove your battery, underneath it you will find a white label with your MEID number.

or go to your settings and about and you see it MEID and IMEI.

The original SIM is still in the card.

If you're looking around for the MEID by looking around on labels or or within your device's software, the reason that you can't find it is because your sevice probably doesn't have one. Only CDMA devices have a MEID. CDMA devices are no longer used in Canada, so even if you're using a device that has both GSM/HSPA/LTE and CDMA, using the MEID would cause porting to fail as the MEID would never register as being connected to a network in Canada. As others have said, if's the IMEI that needs to be used.instead.

If at all possible, your old carrier's account number should be used instead (unless you're porting from Petro Canada or 7-11 Speakout).
