All of these * / # code numbers are just "aliases" or shortcuts to real phone numbers. If it doesn't work, most of the time a few quick google searches will yield the real direct 10 digit number to call.

Hi,

Occasionally I want to call in to a radio station or something similar using their "Pound" or "Star" number (like *690 or #690 for CBC in Vancouver). I get a message saying the convenience numbers are not supported by Public Mobile. Is it just me, or is it the network? Is there anything I can do about it to get the number to work?

Thanks, Ian M

I think it is provider related.

Here is a list of numbers supported by Telus, which I assume supported by PM as well?

telus.com/en/qc/support/article/special-service-mobile-numbers

@imothers : I had to get them to add the *5555 in BC for forest fire reporting back in 2018. It's not a given that and all of those codes will work. Are you willing to share which exact one you're trying or is the subject line it?
