Question about APN settings. Currently using a Umidigi Bison. Phone is great but keeps forgetting the APN settings. The phone works fine for a few weeks then will randomly lose APN settings. It isn't' a big problem as I can just simply re-enter the APN settings, but it is frustrating. Does anyone know why this happens?

Thanks in advance.

Hi @dj_simms

Try this (not doubting your efforts to 'reset' it every time, just a double-check):

Find a friend who uses Public Mobile and has working mobile data

Go to settings->Wireless & Networks->More->Cellular Networks->Access Point Names(APN) both on their phone and on your phone

Click on the plus sign on the top right corner of your phone to create a new profile

Now write the exact same stuff in the new profile as it is on your friend's working profile
You must rewrite them 1:1 to be an exact copy.

The password is usually the same as the username

After you're done click save in top right and then tap on the new profile you created to enable it

I have an UMIDIGI Bison as well. The default Telus/Public Mobile settings don't work and I had to fiddle with the APN settings to get a working version for mobile data. Two times since (most recently last week) an UMIDIGI update has messed up mobile data. Now I am scrambling to find the APN details that worked before, again.
