I'd like to add a second plan to my account with only data. Is this possible?

@joelkim9721 No, you cannot add another line to your account. You have to activate with another email to open another account. Unfortunately, PM do not offer data only plan.

there is really no data only plan with PM. How much data you are looking for? $25 plan includes 1GB, is that enough?

if you want more data and less costly, other providers might have it.

Best bang for the buck is choose to activate with the $50 plan.

It gives you 10.5GB data / 30 days when autopay enabled.

Public mobile used to have a data only plan...it was $30/1gb of full speed 4G LTE. But not very good value. If you just want more data choose the plan that best suits your needs and ignore the fact it comes with unlimited texts and minutes. You will still earn loyalty and autopay rewards. You can refer yourself for the $10 bonus referral credit and earn an extra $1 referral reward on your current account. You will also double up on any free gifts that pm may give away each year.

If its a secondary account you can simply bounce from one promo to the next maximizing the savings and then allowing the account to suspend and deactivate after 90 days once you use up all the credits and/or data, promos, gifts etc....

Many of us have more than one account that has accumulated free gifts, a great plan price (like the $10 50/50 account), promo credits or rewards that pay for the plan ($0 bill) and we may or may not suspend it and reactivate it or let it deactivate.

If you need 'data only' plan for longer period, I know that Fido offers 4 GB for $10.00/mo. If you pick some some 'certified devices' like Grand X View 3 16GB Black, they give you even 5$ discount for 24 months, so technically you get that plan for 5$ (for 2 years). Not sure if you have to be pre-existing Fido customer for that as I've seen some comments that you do and some that you don't. Worth to try if that suits your needs..

this Fido plan is now offered to existing customers only (officially). However, some Fido sales might willing to help to activate for new customers.

Lucky Mobile offers a $15 data only plan. 750MB and then unlimited at slow throttled speed. May or may not suite you.

Exactly how much data are you looking for ?

If you want a data only plan you'll have to look elsewhere. I've seen them range from 10$ for 4GB (Fido) To 42$ for 20GB unlimited.

There's also Fongo Wireless that offers data only plans.

It all depends on how much data you need. Keep in mind if your looking at a tablet plan with the big 3, You need to be an existing customer but that can easily be exploited.

Could you provide some more info on what you would need this for and how much data you need ?

Don't forget to factor in the ability to tether your other device to your cell phone. Maybe it would be more economical to bump your cell phone plan up and share the data across two devices. For example it is only another $10 to go from 5 to 10.5GB of data! That way you make full use of the talk and text part of your plan as well.

You need an existing voice line with Fido in order to sign up for this deal... Unless you somehow convince an in-person store rep to skirt the fine print...

yes.. follow the RFD thread and they will tell you which store might be helping to get you a Fido Data line. It is one the best deal I have. Got a brand new Samsung Tab for free.. $5 per month for 4GB. In fact if you are lucky, you might even be able to knock it down to $0. The 50% off or 100% off has been running for years.. I really don't know why Fido is "giving" the service out for free (or "almost" free) 🙂

They steal it back from their mobility customers. When you're owned by robbers and they pretend to be your best friend then they almost give away or do give away for free or even pay you to have a 3 or 4 GB plan so they can lull you into a 2 year contract and a false sense of security while they rob you blind when your not looking. Most people don't look.....they set it and forget it.

It's a classic con.....and that entire provider conglomerate takes advantage of their customers because they can. They were the originators of negative billing and they still practice it today with greater subterfuge. Sadly as evidenced here at pm....customers don't pay attention to their accounts. With the elimination of paper billing and confusing accounting they can fleece their customers and very few are the wiser.

After 60 days you have no recourse and paying your bill is acceptance of the charges. And if you don't pay in full before the due date because you are disputing the charges you are still charged a monthly 3% late fee (36% annually) plus interest compounded daily. You are stuck between a rock and a hard place with deliberate overages and billing errors.....and that's if you are paying attention.

It's highway robbery and they are allowed to get away with it and then they sic your dog on you! If you thought their bark was bad that's to distract you from the bite they take out of your wallet.
