Does anyone know if this phone will work withe he public mobile network? It is not listed on there compatible phones but maybe somebody has it and it works.

Most Phones are compatible with PM even though it doesnt say so

The global version of UMIDIGI phone will work with PM.

I am using an UMIDIGI A5 Pro on PM network which is an earlier version of UMIDIGI Axx line of phones.

Yes your Umidigi A9 Pro is compatible with PM 3G and 4G/LTE.

Public Mobile uses the following frequency bands:

4G LTE and LTE Advanced: 700 MHz, 850 MHz, 1900 MHz and 2100 MHz downlink and 1700 MHz uplink (AWS).
HSPA: 850 MHz, 1900 MHz (UMTS).

Always good to check whether a phone will work with any provider, especially Public Mobile. Use more than one source to be sure.

Hello. I am quite impressed with it, especially for it's low cost and I am lacking nothing in using it. My only issue is that when I first transferred my older model to the new one, I had trouble getting my chat feature for messenger to send/receive gifs and pics. I got it sorted out... it was not the usual list of suspects. Somehow it eventually worked. It worked perfectly after that period. However, just the other day it reverted to this issue again. One minute I am getting pics from my mom and in the next... the problem was back. I assume some other app interference or an upgrade from something.. some glitch and I just have to get it reset. Once I get it sorted again, it'll be fine. I definitely would recommend it!

UMIDIGI does not provide any OS updates, only security updates + bug fixes.

i.e. You will stuck with the Android version on your UMIDIGI phone. But the bootloader is not locked. You can get custom ROM for the newer version Android OS. Therefore, get a version with more RAM that you can afford.

I got my UMIDIGI A5 Pro in Nov 2019 with Android 9. I had received OTA security updates + bug fixes every 2 - 3 months. The latest OTA update was released on 2021.03.26.

I had to create a new APN and I went to https://apn-canada.gishan.net/en/apn/public-mobile and set it up. I just tried it on my phone. Works great now!
