Hi. I lost my phone a few days ago. I am wondering if it's possible to get my old number back on a new sim. Thanks

Yes as long as you have paid your bill within last 90 days.

Buy a new sim card DONT ACTIVATE IT.

Log into your account

Click change sim card

Follow steps to verify your identity and change your sim card number

Your number will be on new sim. Put it in phone and off you go.

You will need 2 factor authentication. In your case, verification can be done via email since you don’t have access to your lost phone to get a text message.

edit:

https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/Announcements/SIM-Swap-Fraud-2-factor-authentication/td-p/704175

@NargisHujjati

Have you suspended your service via lost/stolen yet? Log into your self serve account. Go to the plans or usage page. Click on lost/stolen. Suspend your service. When you have a new unactivated sim card you can resume your service and perform the sim swap with the email verification option.

While suspended your voicemail will remain active so you can still check for messages. However there is a glitch when suspending that causes your rewards if any to not apply upon renewal. After your plan renews you can contact customer support and ask the CSA to apply them manually to your account balance.

If that was lost less than 90 days, then it is possible. Was it declared as lost phone and suspended?

Take it out of suspension and change SIM will give you the option to activate same number with new SIM.

After your plan expires, all you need to do is top-up your balance to keep the current plan going. You have up to 90 days to make a payment and, after doing so, your payment cycle will restart and your service will resume.After 90 days of non-payment, your account will be permanently deactivated, which means you will:

Lose access to your phone number, and won’t be able to transfer it to a new provider in the future.

Need a new Public Mobile SIM card if you decide to activate a new Public Mobile account.
