Receiving Text Message for Apps Activation

Hello and Happy New Year Everyone.

Would like to confirm if we can receive international text message.

For instances, I was trying to activate an account from the Macau Government, it suppose to send me the activation code through text message, but I never received.

Secondly, try to activate my phone # with an app called Signal, didn't receive the code as well.

However, I do get activation code from local bank - CIBC. So that makes me wondering if PM cannot receive international messages? or these automated text message system is more complicated than I thought.

You can receive international text messages but some short codes may not be received.

All of the new PM plans are able to send and receive international text. However, short code texts from businesses like bank work from Canadian companies. Here is a list of companies that Public mobile receive short code texts.

learn something new, didn't know such short code exist and depend on the Telecom.

They are likely sent it with a phone # , like those Airbnb notifications (but I could be wrong), I will check with the app developer as well to see.
