Mobile hot spot

Im using a unlocked note 5.

I dunno why but my laptop doesnt want to work with my hot spot.

It (my laptop) can connect to the thing and it even says Im connecting to the Internet but its a liar cuz I cant.

So anyone knows whts the problem? Many thx!!!

Select a different secuity when you create hotspot they do give you different security option try different one

Here's a screen shot

Click on side menu ans select configure hot spot and change security option try all one by one hopefully that will resolve your issue

I only have two options (open or WPA2 PSK) and none of them work.

Try open just to check if it's connect also you can do hot spot by usb too I think
Also my phone have more choices for security

Is it just your laptop? Or do you have another wifi device that you can try to connect, to see if it's an issue with the phone or the laptop?

My initial instinct would be that it's maybe an APN issue. From previous posts on this issue, adding "dun" to the apn type seems to have helped.

not really (never though of hot spot before)

If it's not connecting try resetting network setting also recheck the apn setting as well
