understanding data usage history

I'm trying to understand my data usage. What is:

- a data event?

Under data event it notes Data usage as 1.

1 what?

- what is web?

this seems to use more data. Why is that?

Web means that you are accessing the internet and the amount is based on Megabytes.

When it comes to first part of your post, It's one MMS message. Data for this does not use up any part of your plan data amount.

This records data used through Web usage or MMS usage.

The Web usually records as a cumulative line entry only once daily (end of day).

The MMS usage should display chronologically as a data event when used.

The MMS usage does not contribute toward your data allotment and is minimal.

In addition, on the self-serve landing page, you'll see your data consumption in almost real time under the Data and Add-Ons section so you'll know how much of your current allotted data you've consumed in the current cycle.

Data Event		1	MMS	MMS TEXT
Incoming Call	0:00:37		Minutes	Voice call
Incoming text			SMS	SMS TEXT
Outgoing Call	0:00:12		Minutes	Voice call
Outgoing Text			SMS	SMS TEXT
Web		0.065	MB	Data Usage

NOTE: "ALL" under Originating Location are people calling your voicemail and DOES NOT deduct from Plan minutes allocation.

But, checking your voicemail from your own Public Mobile device DOES use minutes from your Plan minutes allocation.

As noted by @esjliv,

You used 1 MMS texting, was the texting including a photo?

You might check enable SMS for non-photo texting.

FYI -

"The maximum size of the text message can vary depending on your device and firmware version. Any message over the maximum size (sometimes 160 characters) will automatically be sent as an MMS."

Yup, as @esjliv @indicated, your text will be sent by MMS when:

- Text is more than 160 characters

- When you have lots of receptions in one text

- When you have photos or videos in your text
